For Writers

Greensboro Bound:  A Literary Festival has an open application process for authors who would like to be part of our annual four-day festival which takes place in downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. This year our festival takes place May 14th – May 17th, 2020.

We will accept submissions between Nov. 4th and Jan. 1st.  Selection announcements will be made in mid-February.

The process flow and requirements for an author to apply are:

  • You are the author of a book that is not self-published, and has come out in the last 18 months.
  • Provide our author team a copy of the book and any reviews of the work. This material is not returned.
  • Our author team reviews open submissions and, based on programming priorities, may reach out and offer a slot/slots in our May festival line-up.

All age-range and types of books are welcomed.  The author team often creates thematic excursions leveraging the work of our participating authors. Past themes have included: the need for diversity in C/YA writing, contemporary Appalachian writing, the LGBTQ experience, speculative fiction, the life of immigrants, and social justice in today’s world.
